HOW IT ALL BEGAN IN 2018…

Kelly Byrnes and Kathy Holmes met walking the streets of downtown Kansas City one evening in the summer of 2018. Ummm…hold on…they were actually walking around the block looking for the entrance to a networking function for entrepreneurs. Innovation KC was the event, and it spurred lots of ideas and launched their friendship.

They met regularly to talk about the culture shifts happening back in 2018. Kelly was a pioneer in the culture space, having focused on it for 20 years—way before it was trendy. Kathy was new launching her first company in the space. They launched Coffee & Collaboration in 2018 to connect the good people they knew with each other to have robust conversations about what was happening with company cultures. The photo below shows one of the early in-person gatherings in Kansas City.

Coffee & Collaboration went virtual and became Culture Matters early in 2020 when Kathy moved to Dallas, Texas. In 2022, Kathy joined e2E, LLC as the Human Resources Practice Leader and stepped out of leading Culture Matters with Kelly. They remain dear friends and colleagues who collaborate, so expect more from this dynamic duo in the future!

Culture Matters remains a monthly virtual conversation with people from all over the United States and even from the UK and New Zealand. It continues to evolve and grow because culture always matters.

There have been 50+ gatherings of people from all types of organizations and roles from founders and executives to HR leaders and project team leaders from division leaders and sales people. Anyone interested in learning about culture and influencing it for good is welcome.
